    Match report

    A 15-minute burst decided it

Richard Kone struck in the second minute after Paul Smyth’s assist, headed a second from Kwame Poku’s delivery in the ninth, then converted a penalty in the 15th. The sequence put QPR 3-0 ahead before Swansea could settle. Jimmy Dunne headed in Harvey Vale’s cross in first-half stoppage time and finished the scoring in the 86th minute, with Kone credited as provider.

Possession and chances told different stories

Swansea had 59 per cent of the ball, but QPR did more with the chances on offer. The hosts put five of 12 shots on target and scored with all five. Swansea finished with eight attempts and three on target. Nine of QPR’s shots came from inside the penalty area, compared with four for Swansea.

    Kone leads a ruthless attack

Kone finished with three goals, one assist and six shots. Dunne’s two goals completed the scoring. Four goals before the interval left Swansea chasing the game; QPR added only one after the break but never surrendered the lead.

    Matos takes responsibility

Swansea head coach Vitor Matos told BBC Sport Wales that QPR “started with a lot of energy” and accepted responsibility for his side’s display. “In the end it’s my responsibility,” he said. He said Swansea now had to understand the performance and improve.
