Check the launch-day timetable
A limited timetable will operate on launch day. Transport for Wales publishes separate timetables and asks passengers to check their chosen journey before booking. Its website says the service will run daily, with a late-night journey extending between Bangor and Holyhead railway station and port. The route links Bangor, Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, Aberaeron and Carmarthen. TfW also lists Aberystwyth University as a stop.
Fares and booking
The Welsh Government gives an introductory adult fare of £12.50 for the full route including Holyhead. Shorter journeys start at £4, while Aberystwyth to Carmarthen is priced at £4.50. Tickets are available through the TaithCymru booking website linked from TfW. Help buying a ticket is available by phone on 03333 211 202. The government says a live tracker will be available through the Traws Cymru app.
Wheelchair and toilet access
The coaches have one wheelchair space, with reservations available. However, the onboard toilet is not accessible and Aberaeron is currently not an accessible stop. TfW says passengers who need a toilet stop should speak to the driver, who can stop at the next available appropriate location. It lists TrawsCymru T1, T5 and T2 services as alternative accessible journey options, but says these do not run overnight.
What is on board
The new coaches have Wi-Fi, reclining seats, air conditioning, luggage space and toilets. Limited cycle spaces can be booked online. TfW says Edwards Coaches will operate the service in partnership with Llew Jones. The service is intended to connect with local buses, trains and ferries. Passengers making an onward connection should check the booked arrival and departure times rather than assume a guaranteed connection.
